How To Choose A Laser Level

Laser Levels:

A laser level can be make the the work become more easily, which can accurate to know the distance between the target to reduce the mistake.During the long distance work ,you can not avoid all the distance difference. And also will waste a part of time . In this case , Laser levels is the best assistance to help you on the work, which can provide long distance difference testing and increasing the install accuracy

Point, Line and Rotation Lasers:

There are basically 3 types of laser levels. Two have static outputs; in simple terms, you'll see a thin visible red line or a red dot on the opposite surface. The third type is called a rotary laser, where a prism driven by a small motor "throws" the laser spot 360 degrees. If the rotation is fast enough, indoors you will see a line around the room.

Are you confusing to choose which Cross Line Laser ?

Accuracy:

Like spirit levels, rotating laser spirit levels are quoted as plus or minus Xmm at 30 meters away. Not sure why 30m was chosen, but it's the industry norm. All of our laser levels have an accuracy of +/-3mm @ 30m or better. Top Rotary Lasers are +/-1.5mm @ 30m.

The best spirit levels have an accuracy of +/- 0.5mm/m, ie. Equivalent to a +/-15mm @ 30m laser, so you can see that even a general purpose laser level is at least 5 times more accurate and easier to use from a distance than a spirit level.

 Manual V Auto:

Less expensive rotary lasers have bubble levels for setting precision. These are called hand lasers. They are no less accurate (than automatic) as long as the user sets them carefully, but they continue to run if tapped, so tend to be used for smaller projects. An automatic (auto) or self-leveling spinning laser can do what it says on the tin! Press a button, and in about 20 seconds, it starts spinning and gives a true horizontal line around the site. If disturbed, the laser will stop, so you can never go wrong.

The same is true for static line or point lasers, except that they self-level immediately because the self-leveling mechanism is a mechanical system: opened by a damped pendulum. Fast and easy to use again. Some models have cross or multi-line laser output, you may want to set squares on the ground for floor tiling etc. They have many other applications.

Green V Red:

Why choose Green instead of Red beam lasers? This is a question regularly asked.

Green beam lasers appear much brighter to the human eye but are more expensive to produce. They are used Indoors only on larger scale projects where Contractors still want to “see” the laser line rather than using a detector. Green beam lasers are no advantage outdoors because a laser detector is still required.

Laser detectors - sometimes called receivers or rod eyes:

This is a device that "detects" laser lines that you can't see. The line can be produced by a rotating laser or a static line laser. Both use a specific type of matching detector, but both have a red pickup window and internal electronics to indicate to you the center of the laser line. You can get this indication via a bright LED, variable sound, or LCD with bold up and down arrows.

Do I need a laser detector?

Again, this decision can be traced back to the size of your workplace and whether you plan to work indoors or outdoors.

Outdoors, you'll always need a detector to pick up a laser beam that your eyes can't see.

Indoors, the detector is generally only used at a distance of more than 20m, but less than 20m, usually with the naked eye to see the laser line or laser point.

An exception is in very bright sunlit rooms. Again, using a detector would be an advantage.

Most Interior Contractors do not like to use detectors. They prefer vision by eye; enhancing the beam with laser glasses - if necessary. However, some of our more expensive Multiline lasers have both options: to see by eye or use a detector included in the kit. The detector is triggered by a "pulsed output" setting - which enables the User to extend the instrument's indoor range or make it usable outdoors too.
